Netanyahu will not agree to stop the war in Gaza!

In a speech on Sunday (May 6), Netanyahu also said,

We are not ready to accept a situation where Hamas battalions will come out of their bunkers and take control of Gaza. Besides, rebuilding their military infrastructure will pose a threat to Israeli citizens.

Israel will not under any circumstances agree to end the war in Gaza as part of a deal to free our hostages, an Israeli government official told local media on Saturday (May 4) on condition of anonymity.

 

He added that the IDF would enter Rafah and destroy the remaining Hamas battalions there. In that case, a temporary ceasefire agreement could be reached to free our hostages.

 

Netanyahu has long vowed to attack the southern Gaza city of Rafah. Netanyahu has also faced pressure from his right-wing coalition.

 

Meanwhile, the United States, despite being Israel's biggest diplomatic and military ally, is not supporting a new attack on Rafah. They have repeatedly called for a plan to protect civilians in Rafah before the attack. But Israel could not show that plan so far.

 

Mediator countries have begun negotiating a cease-fire agreement in Egypt to end Israel's war in Gaza in exchange for the release of hostages held by Hamas. Meanwhile, Netanyahu made this comment.
