The US wants to include Bangladesh in a 'platform'

Opposition deputy leader Anisul Islam Mahmud thinks that the United States wants to include Bangladesh in a platform, not elections or democracy. This is why the US delegation visited Bangladesh recently. He requested the government not to involve Bangladesh in the internal affairs of Myanmar in any way.

Jatiya Party Senior Co-Chairman Anisul Islam said these things while participating in the discussion of the motion of thanks on the President's speech in the Jatiya Sangsad on Monday.

Anisul Islam Mahmud, highlighting the visit of a US team to Bangladesh after the National Assembly elections, said, "A US delegation came here a few days ago. They (came) apparently for democracy, for elections. I don't think that's true.

They came because of their geopolitics. They want to include Bangladesh in some platform. My only request to the government is that we should not get involved in the internal affairs of Myanmar in any way. The integrity of my country is connected with it.

Is the syndicate stronger than the government?

Jatiya Party Member of Parliament Anisul Islam Mahmud said that although the duty has been reduced, the price of goods has not decreased. Why the syndicate cannot be controlled, he said, is the syndicate

more powerful than the government?

Anisul Islam said, the price inflation has become such that common people are sighing. Weak banking sector, unstable exchange rate of dollar, depletion of reserves have destabilized the overall economy.

These should be discussed in the parliament. He said, if there is any problem, Covid, Ukraine war is talked about. It's useless to say. We have to figure out our own structural problems. Inflation has come under control in every country, including the United States. Why can't Bangladesh? They should be discussed in Parliament.

Why can't the government stop extortion? Keeping this question, the opposition deputy leader said, this government is strong. All but 13 members of the parliament belong to the government party. It was expected that the commodity prices would go down before Ramadan. But it is not happening.

Demanding to strengthen the Election Commission, Anisul Islam said that they should have their own manpower. Returning of DCs is done. This is not acceptable at all. They are part of the government.

Anisul Islam Mahmud said that money is smuggled every year. Why, who, how they are smuggling, they have to be thought about. He said, to make development sustainable, good governance must be established. Confidence in the judiciary should be increased. It should be seen that the freedom of the media is not undermined.
