Soybean oil is still not meeting the price set by the government
The new soybean oil rates are yet to take full effect. The government has fixed the price per liter at 163 rupees. It was announced that the new rates will be effective from March 1. Later, Commerce State Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu said that the sale of soybeans will be confirmed at the fixed price throughout the country from Sunday.
However, on Monday (March 4) in most markets of the country including the capital, buyers have to buy oil at the previous price. Consumers have to pay 10 rupees per kg more than the price set by the government. The previous price per liter of bottling is kept at Tk 173 in most of the shops.
Shopkeepers complain that there is a delay in the supply of oil at the dealer level. However, soybeans are available at new prices depending on the store. Traders expect the new price of soybean oil to increase in a day or two. Consumers expressed their anger as the price was not implemented despite the price reduction.
In this regard, a consumer told Bengali Vogue that the price has been reduced for four days, but it is still being sold at the previous price. Shopkeepers say that new oil has not arrived so they are keeping the price high. But if the price is increased, then it does not wait for the new one. As soon as the price increase was announced, they implemented it. He also requested the administration to be strict in this regard.
