Oppo unveils Air Glass 3

Oppo, the leading global technology company, unveiled the 'Apo Air Glass 3' at this year's Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. It is a prototype of the new generation of assisted reality glasses. Oppo Air Glass 3 will be able to access Oppo's AndesGPT model through smartphones, which will give the user a new seamless artificial intelligence (AI) experience. 

Ahead of the event, the company released the 'Apo AI Smartphone White Paper' announcing the establishment of the 'Apo AI Center', which ushers in a new era in transforming a smartphone into an AI smartphone.

At this year's MWC-2024, Oppo launched a new AI motion algorithm in collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies Inc. and startup Alpcentech. It is based on Hybrid Vision Sensing (HVS) technology, which brings enhanced clarity to photography and videography of high-speed moving objects.

These glasses are capable of understanding various data including text, images, video and audio. Its multimodal AI technology is capable of interpreting more complex user scenarios such as voice and visuals, opening up new possibilities for users in communication. XR (Extended Reality) devices have brought new possibilities in using these features. 

But to truly take on the role of a personal, everyday smart assistant, it needs advanced functionality and a lightweight design. Inspired by this goal, Oppo launched the brand new Oppo Air Glass 3 prototype. The new prototype was launched to explore the potential of AI technology based on cross-device integration between XR devices and smartphones.

Emphasis on AI

As part of this commitment, various generative AI features including Oppo AI Eraser will be added to the Oppo Reno11 series and Oppo Find N3 in the international market by the second quarter of 2024.

In the future, Oppo will add Generative AI features to other products including the Reno series next generation in the international market. As a result, more users will experience smart, efficient and convenient living through AI.

The startups' technologies include contactless health monitoring technology, intelligent diagnostic systems for heart and lung sounds, AR games and other applications, which are demonstrating the huge potential of AI technology.
