Newspapers printed in Bangladesh will survive for more than 10 years. Even a medium like television may be lost after 20 years - Shyamal Dutt, general secretary of Jatiya Press Club and editor of Dainik Bhorer paper, has expressed his fear.

He expressed his apprehension on Tuesday (February 27) at the first writer member award ceremony of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association (DCAB) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Shyamal Dutt said, now everything will be done through digital medium. One day the digital world will replace the print or broadcast media.

However, Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Chairman Ambassador AFM Gausal Azam Sarkar still thinks writing is important to continue intellectual practice.

DCAB member Rashed Mehdi was honored for his poetry book 'Facebook Dekh Chand' and Jamuna Television's special correspondent Mahfuz Mishu for his book 'Dhaka Talk'. Two books have been published in this book fair.
